Ralph Cintron’s Angels’ Town

Reading Ralph Cintron’s Angels’ Town, I believe it did not completely change what we learned about graffiti in class. It actually extends the rhetoric and literacy-based narratives about graffiti we’ve been discussing so far. For instance, in the text stated gangs use graffiti as a way to show what they represent. Also, they use it to show rivalry. For example, as states in the text, the word “killer”  is used after a different gang symbol to insult the rival gang. This idea can be taken as a negative view since it shows violence. However, these symbols also represent their life. It represents what they have been through. They use it to express their opinion.
